The other day I was waiting for the woman to take her children out of her car. I had a look behind me and decided to wait until she was done. Kids sometimes do not listen and I did not want anything unfortunate to happen. Instead of understanding I was just waiting on her, she rolled her eyes and said," I guess I am taking too long." I could have told her no I was making sure everyone was safe, I just ignored her. I chose to remain quiet, the timing was not right.
Are we now living in a society, where being polite is a dying act of kindness? Why did she assume I was upset when I just looked in my rearview mirror? Is being polite still important in our society?
Politeness was once a valued trait, but it feels like it has become less important. This can be seen in how people interact with each other with a lack of consideration for others often being the norm. We should strive to treat others with kindness and respect, as politeness is an important part of creating a harmonious society.
Politeness is a sign of empathy and understanding, and it can help to build trust and create strong relationships. Being polite can also help prevent misunderstandings and miscommunications.

I will always hold a door, say good morning, and hello, even if the other person asks as if I do not exist. I do my best to use appropriate body language, such as smiling and maintaining eye contact. I make sure to use appropriate language, such as using, "please" and "thank you". I also take the time to listen to others, and to be respectful of their opinions.
A simple smile can go a long way. I wish we would get back to politeness in this society. Our children are watching and they learn by example.
I pray that whatever that woman is dealing with, things improve for her and her family. I am sorry she could not see or feel my simple act of kindness.
