For me, healing is a process and can derail. Some situations take longer to heal than others.
My first step in my healing process is to identify what I need to heal from; is it an illness, a person, or other types of circumstance?
Some things I consider are as follows:
How to get rid of yesterday's burden.
Finding my way back to my happy place.
Are there circumstances I can control?
Say a daily mantra, an example, it's time (add whatever it is time for)
Once I get back to the good, stay there.
I am purposeful about my process. Some days, I don't write down my reflections, so I meditate. During the healing process, I learned to be kind to myself. Anything other than kindness would defeat my process. I take breaks, forgive myself for mistakes made, and remind myself that I can achieve anything I set my mind to. I have learned to practice self-care and be mindful of my thoughts and feelings.
I have a whiteboard in my bedroom. Recently I changed what was written on the board to fit my journey. Learning to be uncomfortable is fine. It is part of my growth. The other part of my process is what I feed my soul.
My food; what I listen to on tv, radio, and social media are all included in my healing process. What you feed your soul stays with your mind and can't rest. I eat unhealthily and feel bad, so I do my best to nurture my temple with good food. Eating unhealthy foods can have a negative effect on our physical, mental, and emotional health. Eating wholesome, nutrient-dense foods can help nourish our bodies, reduce stress, and improve our overall well-being.
If you are on a journey of healing, find what works best for you. Taking small steps does help. I hope the information I shared helps to provide some insights for you to consider.
